The American Communication Journal is about professional conversation. All of us associated with the Journal -- and this includes everyone who is a member of its parent Association -- desires to improve the discourse on communication (that is, to engage in metacommunication) -- in a way that will advance the study and understanding of communication of all types. So we encourage people to submit their work to ACJ for peer review, and seek to publish this work as soon after its acceptance as we can. We also participate in various forms of dialogue via the net, and three means to participate in our joint work are available via this page.
If you click on Yahoo Groups above, you will be taken to the American Communication Association Yahoo Groups site where you can take up issues of general interest to the Association's members.
If you click on ProBoards , you will be able to join in the converation about the issues that face the membership of the Association, either as a guest or a member, and participate in the virtual Board meetings that are called by the Association's President or others from time to time. You can also see the records of previous discussions about the vision and future of the organization.
And if you click on Journal Blogs , you will be able to participate in conversations about the essays published in the Journal each quarter. So do join the conversation -- in one way or another.
